Paid Family Leave: What's New in 2024
After a four-year phase-in, New York State’s Paid Family Leave (PFL) has reached its target benefit levels, allowing eligible employees up to 12 weeks of job protected paid time off at 67% of their average weekly wage capped at $1,151.16, a $20.08 increase from 2023. 2024 Minimum Wage for
New York State
The New York State minimum wage for all employees outside of New York City, Long Island and Westchester Counties is $15.00 per hour, effective 01/01/2024. Click below for the full Rate Schedule to include rates for tipped workers.
NYS Employee's Withholding
Allowance Certificate
New York State has released a new IT-2104, Employee’s Withholding Allowance Certificate, for 2024. Form IT-2104 is completed by the employee and given their employer to instruct them how much New York State tax to withhold from their pay. An updated form can be accessed using the link below
Updated W-4 for 2024
The updated 2024 W-4 form is now available on the IRS website and can be accessed via the link below. A couple of changes to note, the IRS has removed references to their tax withholding estimator and the amounts on the deductions worksheet have been updated. Step 2(c) now has additional text to clarify who should use the checkbox for two jobs.
New York State's - Paid Family Leave
Starting January 1, 2018, the New York State Paid Family Leave Program will provide New Yorkers job-protected, paid leave to bond with a new child, care for a loved one with a serious health condition or to help relieve family pressures when someone is called to active military service.
